Smart Lock Warranty Policy
The iPLUG Smart Lock Warranty Policy explains warranty coverage, warranty claim procedures, service visits, replacement policies, battery exclusions and customer responsibilities for eligible smart lock products purchased from iPLUG India.
The warranty period varies on products purchased from the iPlug Control System Pvt. Ltd. Following warranty terms will be applicable on SMART DOOR LOCKS only.
The warranty period begins on the date of purchase or receipt of the product, whichever is later. Customers may submit complaints by email or telephone. You can also notify us for warranty claims care@iplugindia.com
Warranty is only eligible with the following documents
- Original invoice,
- Proof of defects.
If any of the mentioned requirements are not met, no warranty claims can be submitted.
In cases of product repair or replacement, our policy allows us to replace or exchange the part or unit with a new, equivalent one.
Limited Warranty Coverage:
iPlug Control Systems Pvt Ltd. (“the Company”) warrants that Smart Door Lock (“the Product”) is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of 3 years from the date of purchase. This limited warranty is valid only for the original purchaser of the Product and is not transferable.
Warranty Coverage:
During the warranty period, the Company will, at its discretion, repair or replace any defective Product or components. This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship and does not cover any physical damage or malfunction caused by:
- Misuse, abuse, or negligence.
- Unauthorized modifications or repairs.
- Failure to follow installation, operation, and maintenance instructions provided with the Product.
- Acts of nature or other external factors beyond the Company’s control.
The warranty does not cover any physical damage caused due to emergency forced access, including situations arising from the non-availability, loss, or misuse of the emergency key. Such cases shall not qualify for free repair, replacement, or warranty claims.
Warranty coverage applies only to genuine iPLUG products purchased through authorized sales channels and installed in accordance with the Company’s installation guidelines. Warranty claims may be rejected if the product has been installed improperly, modified, or serviced by unauthorized personnel.
Obtaining Warranty Service:
If you believe your Product is defective and eligible for warranty service, please follow these steps:
- Contact our Customer Support team to report the issue with a detailed description of the problem
- Team will visit and analyse the issue and further take appropriate action to resolve your issue. (visit charges applicable)
- The Company will, at its discretion, repair or replace the Product or components and return it to you at no cost within a reasonable time.
- The Company may, if required, provide a substitute for your Smart Lock until it is repaired and brought back to you.
Replacement Product Valuation Policy
Replacement under warranty shall be based on equivalent or upgraded functionality and performance, and not on the original purchase price of the product.
Due to rapid technological advancements and changing market prices, newer-generation products may offer equal or superior features at lower prevailing prices compared to older products purchased earlier. Therefore, a replacement product shall not be deemed lower grade or inferior solely because its current market value or selling price is lower than the original product price.
The Company reserves the right to provide the latest available model or equivalent alternative product as full settlement of its warranty obligations.
Visit Charges
At iPlug, we aim to provide exceptional service and support to our valued customers. To maintain the highest standards of service quality and ensure our technicians are readily available to assist you, we have established the following visit charges:
- Standard Visit Charge:
Our standard visit charge covers the cost of dispatching a qualified technician to your location. This fee includes the technician’s travel time, transportation expenses, and a preliminary assessment of the issue. The standard visit charge is applicable for all service requests and is as follows:
- Within City: Rs.499
- Outside City: Rs.799
- Long-Distance or Out-of-Region: Please contact us for a customized quote.
- Emergency Visit Charge:
For urgent service requests that require immediate attention outside of our regular business hours, an emergency visit charge will apply. Emergency visit charges help us prioritize your needs during non-standard hours and are as follows:
- Emergency Visit Charge (Evenings, Weekends, Holidays): Rs. 900
- Multiple Visits:
In cases where multiple visits are necessary to resolve a single issue, subsequent visit charges will be determined based on the complexity of the work and the materials required.
Battery Leakage Disclaimer
Limited Warranty Scope: Damages caused by battery leakage — including, but not limited to, corrosion, electronic failure, or device malfunction — are not covered under warranty.
Timely Battery Maintenance: Users are advised to replace batteries immediately upon expiration or at the first sign of leakage to avoid potential damage.
Exclusion Notice: The warranty explicitly excludes any losses or damages resulting from battery leakage, regardless of whether the battery was installed properly or improperly.
The warranty does not cover cosmetic damage including scratches, dents, discoloration, paint damage, surface wear, normal ageing, or damage caused during transportation, relocation, renovation work, misuse, accidents, water ingress, fire, flooding, power surges, or vandalism.
User Responsibility: It is the user’s responsibility to follow the manufacturer’s battery usage and maintenance guidelines to ensure safe and optimal performance. By using this product, you acknowledge and accept these conditions concerning battery leakage.
Lithium-Ion Battery Coverage: The lithium-ion battery included with the Model 3D Face ID is covered under warranty for one (1) year from the original date of purchase. This warranty excludes damage arising from misuse, accidents, unauthorized modifications, or any issue not related to defects in materials or workmanship.
Normal battery consumption, battery replacement, battery depletion, and performance reduction resulting from normal usage are considered routine maintenance items and are not covered under warranty.
Data & Access Disclaimer
The warranty covers hardware manufacturing defects only. The Company shall not be responsible for loss of access credentials, forgotten passwords, deleted user accounts, mobile application issues caused by third-party operating systems, internet connectivity issues, cloud service interruptions, or customer configuration errors.
Payment Information:
All visit charges are due at the time of service completion. We accept various payment methods, including cash, credit/debit cards, and electronic payments. Detailed invoices with a breakdown of charges will be provided for your reference.
Cancellation Policy:
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a service visit, please notify us at least 3 hours in advance to avoid any cancellation fees.
Customer Satisfaction Guarantee:
Your satisfaction is our priority. If you are not entirely satisfied with our service, please contact us within 7 days, and we will work to resolve the issue to your satisfaction.
